Privacy
Draft for review before launch. Last updated September 15, 2026.
What we store
- Your AnkiWeb email, as your account name.
- AnkiWeb's sync key for your account, encrypted. We never store your AnkiWeb password; it is used once to obtain the key.
- A copy of your Anki collection (notes, cards, decks, review history), kept in sync with AnkiWeb so ChatGPT and Claude can work with it when your devices are off. We do not copy your media files.
- Daily snapshots of that copy for 7 days, so a bad change can be undone.
- A log of changes made through Deckhand (for example "added 8 notes"), kept up to 30 days.
- Usage counts for your plan, and your Stripe customer ID if you subscribe. Card numbers go to Stripe, never to us.
How it's used
Only to run the service: answer requests from the AI apps you connect, sync with AnkiWeb, enforce plan limits, and support you. We don't sell your data, show ads, or use your cards to train models.
Who else sees it
The AI app you connect (for example ChatGPT or Claude) receives the parts of your collection it asks for, under that company's privacy policy. AnkiWeb receives the changes we sync. Stripe processes payments. Our hosting provider stores the data on our behalf.
Your choices
- Disconnect on your account page deletes the sync key and signs out every connected app.
- Delete account removes your account, the cloud copy of your collection, its snapshots and your logs within 24 hours. Your decks in Anki and on AnkiWeb are not affected.
- Email support@saifalesawy.com for a copy of your data.
